ATACAMA
by Elisus Swans
take me to Atacama
let the sun strip me bare
my flesh melting away
let the sand stare
stood in desolation
muscles proping up clothing
there's a desert within
every grain self loathing
i remember the trees
was i the axe
was i the suffocating blaze
my bones are turning to ash

PRAYING TO TREES
by Elisus Swans
human existence is too complicated
for a shattered soul like me.
praying to trees, scraping at dirt,
a sinuous reality.
disconnected and cut off
from the Mother that be.
i seek return to the mud and Earth.
i dig so long, lost and so empty.
is there something to gain
now that i am lost?
the trees keep on falling
how much more should this cost?

FLOATING OBJECTS
by Elisus Swans
we're all floating objects at sea,
rippling against each other in the water.

OUROBOROS
by Elisus Swans
ouroboros.
the slow slither,
a forever cycle of suffering.
we're all caught exhausted within those jaws.
when will the mother snuff us out before we completely consume
ourselves.

SINUOUS REALITY
by Elisus Swans
we sink or swim.
forever thrashing in water.
with the suffering dragging us under,
why did we swallow a sinuous reality?

TAKE A SLICE
by Elisus Swans
take a slice of my soul.
i'll deal with the emptiness,
the rage that will wrap and writhe within its place.
i'll deal with the suffering,
the seek for sleep for something that screams within my wide waters.
i'll deal with the darkness,
the disrepair and decay that grasps me in the gloom and shakes me by the shoulders.
i'll deal,
i'll deal.
take a slice of my soul
and satiate yourself.
i'll deal,
i'll deal.

FEEL
by Elisus Swans
do you feel it?
scratching away at your surface,
scurrying beneath your eyelids,
screaming silent at the back of your brain,
suffocating inbetween neglected body and soul.
do you feel it?
the sound of dull tapping on the glass of the goldfish tank,
the slow twist to contort and constrict your spine,
the sorrow gripping into your skin;
pulling leaving receded gums,
the sinking of self as you submerge never to grow again.
do you feel it?
